Our Garden Solemnization @ 8Lido

It's always been my dream to have a garden theme wedding, but it is not common in JB. At first i was thinking of doing a simple ROM lunch at a chinese restaurant, until my lovely hubby found out details about 8Lido.

8Lido is a 1950s colonial bungalow converted into a restaurant lounge. It stands along the Lido Beach opposite Danga Bay. We came here a few times for drinks and meals sometimes ago, we love the nicely refurbished old british style colonial bungalow and its small green garden, and there's sea view as well, we thought that this would be a lovely place to have our solemnization. So hubby called up the restaurant manager and got in touch with their event coordinator, Ms. Yanni.

Yannilism was set up by Ms. Yanni and her team of creative artist and photographer, and is the only official event company managing all events and function that are going on at 8Lido, you can visit their facebook page, Yannilism .

Our names lettering blocks.

Our welcome board.

I made this picture collage to be placed at the reception because we do not have any wedding pictures yet, so i think a collage of our dating days picture will be quite adequate too.

Hubby and i have come to the conclusion of lilac and white as our theme, hence the lilac and white setting for our gazebo.

The wedding band.

The matching theme wedding cake.

The nicely decorated garden for our solemnization.

We were very blessed that it was a clear day with light breeze. The major problem of having a garden or outdoor wedding is the weather, and it is really not within our means. We have been praying everyday for two weeks before the day cos it's been rainy and we were so afraid that our money effort will go down the drain! Thank god, the sun made it in time!

We did not have a long list of guests but only our immediate family and closest friends for our solemnization, because 8Lido is not a very huge restaurant, and we were having a sit down lunch, so we wont be able to accommodate so many guests. Moreover, we both love it small and cozy.

Our sit down lunch consist of 4 courses - starter, soup, main course and dessert. 8Lido has one of the amazing chefs in JB, the food is fine and delicious, my guests were very satisfied with the taste and turn out of their lunch.

We engaged our own photographer instead of Yannilism's in house photographer because both of us rented our solemnization suit and gown. At first i thought i might tailor make a dress, but i don't see the need and i don't see myself wearing it after that and it will be a waste. Hence, we went around looking for the right dress and found D'gio Bridal House .

We were very honored to have their best photographer, Gucci, who drove a VW vintage camper van to 8Lido and took pictures for us. Here are some of my solemnization day pictures.

I simply love this VW vintage camper van that Gucci drove to 8Lido for our outdoor photoshoot. It's very important to communicate with your photographer on what you want. We went to D'gio to collect our suit and dress a day before our solemnization, and have a discussion with Gucci on what kind of pictures we want on our day. Hence, he drove this vintage baby along to match our garden theme wedding.

Thank you to our lovely friends, thank you for everyone's presence and blessing, Paul & I really appreciate it. Thank you for those who appeared in the pictures with the VW camper van, i know it was really hot and sunny and you might have gotten a shade tanner because of the photo shooting, we are grateful to have all of you gorgeous people in our pictures! Special thanks to Joanne, we owe you big time!! Thank you loads for all the guests names' place cards, wedding favours and such. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Thank you god, for making me the lucky girl, and have my dream garden wedding came real. To my dearest new husband, I love you. Thank you for everything.

Making a come back

It took me such a long time to come back to writing/blogging, I've neglected this little space of mine for the longest time ever. I have told myself time and again that i should keep writing, but i guess i have serious time management problem, or simply to lazy. A lot has happened during my absence here, and i really have no idea how to start, or trace back, or back date to thousand and one things that has come into my life.

A little update on what's going on in my life, I am still traveling around like what i used to do, still enjoying the seeing the world and touring different cities. I've pick up a new passion - yoga, trying my best to go for my yoga class at least 1 time a week, which sometimes my schedule doesn't allow me to go in once a week, so I'll try to make it up on the following week. Besides that, I just got ROM on last month, October, which makes me legally a married woman now.

It all begun sometimes in April, when we went for our annual short getaway in Phuket, and he came down on one knee with a rock during our dinner at our favourite restaurant along Patong beach. Then we started choosing our dates, gowns, our solemnization venue and such. My hubby and i did our registration of marriage in JB, and we had a small solemnization ceremony.

I'm currrently in Sao Paolo and my hubby and I have just ended our 10 days Italy trip as our mini honeymoon after our ROM. I think it was a good time to go for a vacation, if not, we will be occupied by our traditional wedding ceremony preparation next year.

Ok, too much writing, I shall put some pictures into my next entry then.

Til then, take care...
