God painted the world white for me

Friday night.
Rainy and cooling JB.

Last week I was in Zurich, hoping and praying that it will snow. I've waited for the whole day sitting in front if my hotel room window, and all I've seen we're flurries falling from the sky, and melted immediately as it touched the ground. It's too light to form snow or ice. I went to bed in disappointment, as this will be my last flight before the Christmas, and it will meant that I won't see any snow before Christmas :(

Woke up early the next day morning to get ready for home, and as I drawn open the curtain, this was what I saw....

God heard me, and my prayer has been answered.

My wish has been granted, Christmas snow, my first snow for 2011. I've got a white Christmas. Thank you god!

Few snap shots on my way to the airport.

It's snowing so beautifully, how I wish I can stay a little longer and make a snowman.

But all my family, friends and love ones are waiting for me to go home for the celebration.

So, goodbye for now Zurich and snow. I'll come back soon.

Christmas lights from down-under

Tuesday Night.
Warm and sunny brisbane.

Instead of going up north, now i'm at the down under, Brisbane. It's been a long and tiring journey over night to reach here, i was totally knocked out once my head touched the pillow of my hotel room. I'm staying at Sebel Citygate instead of Hilton that we sued to be put up, and Sebel is so-so only loh. Still miss Hilton. Sigh.

I was welcomed by this huge christmas tree as i walked from my hotel to the walking street.

It's already evening when i walked out, and i'm out to hunt for food. Most of the food courts were closed, except for hungry jacks which i never really fancy; fast food are unhealthy, this is what i always think. So i got into a Korean restaurant opposite the Hilton Hotel.

It's a very nice and cozy restaurant filled with korean students. The staffs here are koreans.

As usual, i ordered my two favourite dish - Bulgogi Beef and Soon Doubu Soup.

The Soon Doubu Soup, which is the Korean hot toufu soup with seafood, is so nicely cooked. The soup is so sweet from the taste of the seafood and toufu and they add on big prawns and clams in it. Good!
The Bulgogi Beef is not bad, but a little bit salty; it's good with rice but i don't eat rice, i usually eat it together with the toufu from from toufu soup. Nonetheless, the beef is flavourfully marinated and tender. Nice!

After eating... i went roaming on the streets...

And as i walked back to the hotel, the Christmas tree has lighted up...

And this is where i m putting up for the night...
The lobby...

It's a ok hotel, nothing to shout about.

Got myself some snacks to keep me company throught the night...
It's 12am here in brisbane, bed time for me, have to wake up early to fly back to singapore.

Take care peeps.

Orchard Christmas Lightings + Christmas Shopping

Tuesday evening.Hot and sunny brisbane.

Supposedly, i should be in the freezing sub zero degrees Moscow watching snowfalls and making snowman for the weekend, due to some unforseen circumstances, my route has been changed and here i'm in the warm and sunny Singapore still. Feeling totally upset about it, but there's nothing else i can do, considered it bad luck then! So, my baby has brightened up my day by bringing me for retail therapy. It's Christmas shopping for the weekend!

Where else in Singapore is great for shopping? Orchard road of course! We started of the day with lunch at the Ambush, B2 of Ngee Ann City. inside the Takashimaya Shopping Centre Food Court.

Baby's beef bolognese with spagetthi & my scallop and prawns in japanese fish roe and cream sauce with fettucini. Yumz...

After lunch, we went shopping for gifts for our family and friends. It's so crowded cos i believed everyone is rushing to buy gifts, and at the same time, it's school holiday plus festive seasons, and there are sales in almost every shop; how could anyone miss it? We are like seriously fighting with the others to get our stuffs and have to brace through the crowds to walk through everywhere. *sweat*

Besides shopping, we managed to catch a glimpse of the Christmas lights in orchard road this year. Seriously, i think they are competing and see who has the biggest Christmas tree. Almost every shopping centre has a Christmas tree of their own, right in front of their mall entrance!

Just as we are about to cross over from Ngee Ann City to Paragon, we saw a huge crowd surrounding a boutique, and we realized, it's Abercrombie & Fitch, an american brand of clothing and accesories store with their first outlet in Singapore. In order to create awareness, they flown in their hunky models to "showcase" infront of their boutique, which will be opening next week. That got all the girls and guys excited and they were taking pictures of them and with them, and seriously, the guys are real cute and hot!!!! *drools*

Abercrombie & Fitch used to be so exclusive to the locals cos you only can get them in the states and London. I started buying their clothes and accesories like 6 years ago, and back then the price were quite affordable. As they got more and more popular, and with the joining of new designers who has previously worked for big labels like Gucci, their prices are so expensive now! Nonetheless, Singapore is definitely a good place for them to set up an outlet, it'll definitely attracts a lot of asian from the nearby region!

More shopping and more christmas lights...

Ok, like i've said, it's all about Christmas tree this year, not even a sight of Santa :(. Time for dinner.

Some local flavours..
Fried carrot cake, BBQ chicken wings, roast duck and roast pork.
Lovely!

And here are the lighted Orchard road...

And at the end of the day, i'm totally grinning from ear to ear with all my hands full of shopping bags!! hehe

Christmas is a season of love, peace and joy.

Spread your love and joy to everyone around you.
