My Valentine's 2012

14th February, Valentine's day, a day where all the couple will celebrate their love with nice candle light dinner, flowers and chocolate. I'm thankful that i've you in my life and thank you for such a beautiful bouquet

Love the lilies and roses so much, and they smell so good... my whole room smells of lilies and roses now...

In return, i made chocolate for my baby. I have never make chocolate before, i just thought of giving it a try and went buying the ingredients and google about chocolate making, and decided that it should be like this... LOL

He told me he has yet to try the chocolate cos it's too nice to be eaten.. haha..
As i need to go to work at night, so we decided on simple and yet delicious chai tau kueh at chomp chomp for our valentine's day dinner, our favourite chai tua kueh stall!!

Just a week before Valentine, he bought me this.. like it so much!!!

Thank you for everything baby... Love you... xoxo

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands
Standing tall and beautiful and the Marina Bay, finally i have a chance to stay in for a night with my gerfrens! Special thanks to Derrick, Jasmine's buddy for booking this for us!
Over-looking fullerton and shenton way from our window... beautiful!!

Our big and comfy room that comes with 2 queen beds, just nice for the 4 of us girls; and a huge bathroom.

View from the skypark, the infinity pool and the view is breath-taking!

It's actually freaking windy and cooling that day, and we were actually bracing the cold to dip in the water...
bloody mary + sunset + scenic view + bffs
life's great!

My dearest bffs, thank you so much for the joy, love, care & happiness that all of you have given to me. I'm lucky and grateful to have you all in my life.

Ramen, Sushi, Hanamidori - Fukuoka

It's been such a long time since i last went to Fukuoka, probably about 3-4 years ago?! All i can remember about Fukuoka is Ichiran ramen, one of the best ramen i have ever eaten!

Ichiran is located at the basement level of the Canal City shopping mall, which is the shopping mall link to the hotel that i'm staying, Grand Hyatt. I like this hotel very much because of it's comfort and accessibility to shops and supermarket, and the rooms have a stylish and modern touch.
The uniqueness of Ichiran is that all customers are seated separately in one person per table or cubicle irregardless that you are in a group. This is, according to Ichiran, to give their customers the space and time alone to enjoy the bowl of ramen. Ichiran uses vending system when it comes to ordering your bowl of ramen, after taking the receipt from the vending machine, you will find an empty cubicle to sit and filled up a form about how you like your bowl of ramen. Ichiran's ramen is so tasty because it's cook according to your preference, the form includes questions such as tenderness of the noodles, richness of soup base, with or without spring onion, garlic etc. How can it be not nice when they are so thoughtful to cook the ramen to your liking??
Tadah~! My very own bowl of ramen. I like my noodle tender with rich soup base and i add on an onsen egg, my favourite!
Tender noodle, not so fatty char siew... slurps

Yummy onsen egg... I simply love Ichiran's ramen!! LIKE LIKE LIKE

Besides ramen, sushi is my another love in Japan. I went to Hakata station to run some errands for my friends and had my lunch there at a sushi joint.
Menu full of fresh cut seafood sashimi and the experienced sushi chef.
The charming sushi chef handed me the freshly made uni sushi, i love uni ( sea urchin ) !!!!

The clam miso soup is so sweet and filled with the goodness of the clams, and look at the clam, it's so fat and juicy!!

After lunch, i went to gourmet city, a supermarket near the hotel to buy some stuffs, i have nothing much to buy but ended up like this....

Lesson learnt : there's never " nothing much to buy " in Japan. Everything is nice there and i just can't help but buy them back for my friends and family....

After having a hard time stuffing everything into my poor bag, i met up with my japanese friends for dinner. They brought us to something that we've never try before and never have them back home.

Hanamidori
This Hanamidori restaurant is about 5-10 minutes walk away from our hotel.

Hanamidori, featuring chicken and how the Japanese cook and serve the chicken. First, we have chicken sashimi, it's my first time trying chicken sashimi and it tastes so good!!! Forget about all the chicken you had before with the fridge smell or chicken stench, this thinly slice chicken tastes so sweet and when eaten together with onion and special yuzu, pepper and sesame oil dip, it's simply delicious!

Follow by 2nd course, the server scoop the top layer of the soup, which is high in collagen, and put them in a small cup top with spring onion and served. The soup is sweet and tasty, and not to mention the collagen is good for your skin...
Then, the server poured some special soya sauce and served a piece of chicken and some soup to all of us. The soya sauce has been infused with japanese yuzu, it's sweet and with a hit of citrus, it goes well with the chicken and the soup, and gives a refreshing after taste.
Server making us chicken meat ball which are so smooth and flavourful.
I love the chicken liver, it's not the hard hard type that we used to eat back home, it's powdery and tender. Everyone on the table was fighting over the liver!
Here comes the vegetables and toufu...

After finishing all the meat and vegetables, the server brought us some noodles and rice, and served us some pickled to go with the noodles and rice. The rice porridge taste better than the noodles because the rice has soaked up all the goodness from the soup, with the addition of egg, it made the rice porridge tasted so sweet and rich!

First time trying Hanamidori and i like it so much! It's about 3500yen per person for a meal like this, equavalent to abt Sgd50, and it's definitely an unforgettable and eye opener! You can find Hanamidori in other cities in Japan too, but it's originated from Fukuoka and i heard it tastes better in Fukuoka.

Looking forward to my next trip to Fukuoka! Peeps, if you are here for holiday, remember to check out Hanamidori! Must try in Fukuoka!

Take care!
