Chinese New Year with my London's family!!

Yup, it's Chinese New Year and yes, I've no leave and no break and have to work. But god has been kind to me and sent me off to London to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family in London. I miss my 2 little sweeties so much!!
Took the Tube to my aunt's place at High Barnet, and checked out the 2 charming macho bulldogs on the train! How i wish i could commute with my golden retriever and Schnauzer in malaysia or singapore, it's impossible to see such scene back home. :(

With my two lovely cousins - Caitlyn and Cheryl.. They just simply melt my heart every time i see them.

Table full of mouth watering dishes by my grandaunt, and little Cheryl, always the first one on the dining table. I brought this instant packet of Yusheng from singapore so we can louhei in the cooling London!

Finale of the night, the sky lantern that all the children were waiting for. It's very cold at the night and it took a lot of effort for the giant lantern to light up, warm up and take off. The children were amazed and delighted when the lantern took off. Except Cheryl, who felt a little upset as she couldn't understand that the lantern was supposed to fly away, and she wanted it back.

The next day, i joined my colleagues to Golden Mile Restaurant in Bayswater for some awesome chinese roast duck, which is a must have if you are in London. It's the 7th day of the lunar new year, and according to the tradition it's everyone's birthday, Bayswater was exceptionally festive with lion dance troupe going from shops to shops to perform. For that moment, i actually didn't feel that bad to be away from home, it's not that bad for chinese new year in London!

2 very cute green and orange lions sending the Chinese New Year greetings, and the restaurant was totally packed!

Our starter, one of my favourite ways of preparing duck dishes - Aromatic Crispy Duck.
The duck meat has been marinated and deep fried, and shredded into small pieces; put the shredded duck meat on a popiah skin spreaded with sweet sauce, add on spring onions and cucumber, roll it up, and wala! It's so yummy that i had 3!

And yes, this is my favourite roast duck in the world! We had a table of feast! Great way to celebrate the chinese new year away from home.

XOXO,
