Sabon

Sabon is a brand specialize in bath, body and hair care products started in Tel Aviv, and later on brought famous across the world from States to Europe and Japan. I came upon this brand during one of my trips to Amsterdam a few years ago. While I was shopping with my friends on our way to Dam Square, we went into their boutique with my friend wanting to get a body scrub.

A soothing scent welcomed us, and in the center of the boutique is a wooden barrel converted into a sink, and surrounded with many different jars of body wash, body scrub, shower gel and lotion. The staff introduced us to their selection of body and bath products, and telling us that all their products are parabens free and made with natural herbs and plants extract and essence oil. They are environmental friendly with no plastics use on their packaging, and uses recycle glass jars and bottles for their products.

We were then introduced to their body scrub which uses dead sea minerals and salts, and the staff gave us a trial of their body scrub on our hands, and instantly, I felt that my hands were so soft and smooth. After the wash, she offered us their hand cream and I fell in love with their scents. Their scents are very unique and light, blended by themselves, and you can't find these scents else where. They have a range of finest natural ingredients products that pamper you from head to toes.

Just two days ago, I found sabon at the El Gothic area along La Rambla at Barcelona and hopped into it to replenish my jar of finishing body scrub. This is the one that I've been using for quite a while, if you use it once a week, it can probably last you to about 6 months or more for a 500ml jar. Lavender apple is my favourite, soothing and refreshing.

This time, I've been introduced to a new body scrub by Sabon, and it's called butter scrub! One thing good about shopping at Sabon, every items are individually wrap up with Sabon wrapper and bubble wrap, and they do gift wrapping for free too.

Here's my purchase...

Nicely wrapped up.

Twist open the cap and here's my new jar of butter scrub, fully packed to the brim. The texture is rather rich compare to their normal body scrub, and it's filled with fine sea salt.

Trying it out on my hands. Rinse hands with water, then apply a small amount of it on, rub thoroughly and try to scrub on areas that you think it is darker and uneven skin tone. Then rinse it off with water.

Tadah! Smoother hand after the scrub. Always apply hand cream or moisturizer after scrub to keep your skin smooth and hydrated!

I really love this new butter scrub more than the body scrub, adding the butter into the scrub making it more moisturizing for your skin, suitable for people with dry to normal skin, and it comes in unique scents such as lavender apple, patchoulli lavender vanilla, rose tea, musk, green valley, lemon mint, vanilla coconut and lot more! Sabon is available in certain countries only, so if you would like to buy one, you can try going to Sabon New York website to order and get a third party courier to send them back home.

If you happen to travel to the countries that have Sabon, remember to go in and try out some of their products! More information on their worldwide store Sabon .

Til then, take care.

Hubby Birthday Surprise at Traders Hotel @ Puteri Harbour

Today is my dearest husband birthday and sadly, I am not around to celebrate this special day with him, I hope next year on wards and the many many years to come, I'll always be with him on this special day. I've decided to give my hubby a surprise pre-birthday celebration and I thought of a staycation, where they will only be just the two of us and loads of quality time spent together.

I've decided to book us in to a newly opened hotel, Traders Hotel at the Puteri Harbour of Nusajaya, the iskandar district of Johor Bahru.

It's a secret mission so my hubby has no idea about what is coming! I've woken up early on Saturday morning to do the checked-in and decorate the room while my hubby is still at work. The lobby is located at level 1 with modern and contemporary design.

I've booked a harbour view room and have been put on the third floor of block 3, the staff said they have specially put us in this room because it's near to the skybar, where we will have our dinner tonight, so thoughtful of them!

Got my room key and entered the deluxe room facing the harbour, and decorated the room with some balloons and a happy birthday banner.

Loving the beautiful harbour view from my room.

As for birthday cake, I've decided to order some cupcakes from Agnes Patisserie in JB. They specialize in customizing cakes and cupcakes, I've got some ideas from Pinterest and email them to  Agnes, and here I've got - my customized cupcakes for my dearest hubby birthday. It's the design of his favourite sport and passion - golf.

I've handed my cupcakes and a bottle of champagne to the hotel staffs and they were very helpful and accommodating knowing that I'm throwing a surprise celebration for my hubby, I'm so thankful for coming to the right hotel!

I've chosen Skybar for our dinner venue, it's located at the 4th floor next to the infinity pool with the spectacular view of the harbour and skyline of Iskandar and Johor Bahru.

The beautiful night view from Skybar.

We arrived slightly early and the manager, Roger ushered us to the bar area for a drink before our dinner.

I've ordered a five course dinner for us with my husband's favourite main course - Angus beef, i think it will be better if it's wagyu, my husband is a big fan of steak!

Here goes the food porn... and me with the view...

We were both full to the brim! Thanks to the lovely after rain weather, it's cooling and breezy at the alfresco seating area. I made an excuse to go to the ladies and discreetly went into the restaurant to ask the server to make the arrangement for my cupcakes and champagne to be sent to my room, and they are really cooperative and efficient. After checking out from the restaurant, I told my hubby that I wanted to bring him to a place and asked him to close his eyes, and there we went to our room! He didn't see this coming and was awed at what he saw!

Happy Birthday to the love of my life, my one and only true love, my hubby! May you always be as happy as today, and all the great things happen to you. I love you always and forever. XOXO

I'm really glad that he was very happy with the arrangement and we love the room so much, the bed is so comfortable and the room is spacious. We ended our night in the room enjoying our quality time and sipping the bubbly.

Woke up early on the next day for the buffet breakfast at the Harbour Cafe at lobby level, and it was so busy and crowded even at this early hour of a Sunday. Harbour Cafe offers buffet breakfast and dinner on everyday and buffet lunch on weekends, and offers a wide variety of international and local cuisine. I am really impressed by the spread for the breakfast, there's an egg station, fresh fruit juice bar, salad and cold cuts, dim sum, roti canai and roti prata, laksa noodles station, hotcakes and waffles, cakes and sweets, pastries and bread and so much more. I think I need 2-3 hours to try everything on the buffet table!

After a sumptuous breakfast, we went up to the infinity pool for a dip. It's a cloudy morning with not much sun, great for people like me who try to avoid the sun.

I would like to thank Traders Hotel @Puteri Harbour for their friendly, thoughtful and competitive staffs for making this surprise celebration a success! Special thanks to Skybar Restaurant Manager Roger for all the special arrangement, and front desk Vivy for the thoughtfulness, thank you so much!

My dearest hubby, Happy Birthday once again! I love you so so so much!
