Chinese New Year with my London's family!!

Yup, it's Chinese New Year and yes, I've no leave and no break and have to work. But god has been kind to me and sent me off to London to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family in London. I miss my 2 little sweeties so much!!
Took the Tube to my aunt's place at High Barnet, and checked out the 2 charming macho bulldogs on the train! How i wish i could commute with my golden retriever and Schnauzer in malaysia or singapore, it's impossible to see such scene back home. :(

With my two lovely cousins - Caitlyn and Cheryl.. They just simply melt my heart every time i see them.

Table full of mouth watering dishes by my grandaunt, and little Cheryl, always the first one on the dining table. I brought this instant packet of Yusheng from singapore so we can louhei in the cooling London!

Finale of the night, the sky lantern that all the children were waiting for. It's very cold at the night and it took a lot of effort for the giant lantern to light up, warm up and take off. The children were amazed and delighted when the lantern took off. Except Cheryl, who felt a little upset as she couldn't understand that the lantern was supposed to fly away, and she wanted it back.

The next day, i joined my colleagues to Golden Mile Restaurant in Bayswater for some awesome chinese roast duck, which is a must have if you are in London. It's the 7th day of the lunar new year, and according to the tradition it's everyone's birthday, Bayswater was exceptionally festive with lion dance troupe going from shops to shops to perform. For that moment, i actually didn't feel that bad to be away from home, it's not that bad for chinese new year in London!

2 very cute green and orange lions sending the Chinese New Year greetings, and the restaurant was totally packed!

Our starter, one of my favourite ways of preparing duck dishes - Aromatic Crispy Duck.
The duck meat has been marinated and deep fried, and shredded into small pieces; put the shredded duck meat on a popiah skin spreaded with sweet sauce, add on spring onions and cucumber, roll it up, and wala! It's so yummy that i had 3!

And yes, this is my favourite roast duck in the world! We had a table of feast! Great way to celebrate the chinese new year away from home.

Lunar New Year Eve + My dearest baby brother turned 21 !!

It's another blessed year again that i got to have reunion dinner on the lunar new year eve with my family, my family and friends all know that, being in this job, it's a blessing to have off and leave on the festive season, we cherished the time and moment that we can and gathered for a feast!

Table full of all the nice dishes by my lovely mummy, with the help of my dearest daddy and me. I dun always get a chance to eat my mum's cooking as i'm always not around, i miss her cooking so so much!!!!
Our noisy little busybody - Coco wanted to join us for the dinner too...

Every year, my daddy's siblings - my uncle and 2 aunties will have their reunion dinner on their own, and come over to my house after that to visit my grandma, and stay up til 12 midnight to countdown to the new lunar year. That's the part which i love and miss most cos all the cousins will come together on this day to chit chat, play crackers and indulge in all the new year's snacks and goodies.
That's my aunty Jessie with a lot of goodies, and she has prepared Yusheng for us to louhei!
The colourful Yusheng, and we tossed high for a great and fruitful Dragon year!!

In conjunction with this lunar new year was my baby little brother's 21st birthday. He should have a celebration and a party with all his mates in KL, but it's near to the lunar new year, and most of his mates and buddy have all gone home for the festive, my poor little brother, once in a life time 21st birthday and it's to be 2 days before the lunar new year. So, we ordered a cake for him and have a small family celebration to his 21st!!

My dear little baby brother Charles, you've grown up and has always been my best baby brother! Happy 21st birthday!! May god be always with you in whatever you do and wanting to achieve. I love you so much. Hugs

This chocolate cake from Lavender is damn shiok!! Must try!!

I know this post came way too late and it's way over Chinese New Year now. Pardon me as I really got too many things to do and my busy work schedule didn't help me much too.

Still, i hope everyone had a great and fun Chinese New Year, and Heng Heng Huat Huat to the Dragon 2012!!

XOXO,

I am a lucky girl cos my first trip of 2012 is to my favourite city - London. It's my home away from home because of my aunt lilian and uncle jayson and their 2 sweetie pies who have always made my time spent in London a warm and jolly one.

I spent my late afternoon and dinner over at their place at High Barnet, and my grand aunt who has came from Malaysia to stay and visit are here too, and she has cooked some great homely dinner for us.
